Ethiopian Airlines to fly to Tanzania more frequently

TANZANIA, Dar es Salaam (eTN) – Ethiopian Airlines has increased its flight frequencies to Tanzania, targeting the northern tourist circuit regions of Kilimanjaro and Arusha and the Lake Victoria city of Mwanza.

The airline has announced its 12 departures per week from Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), which connects Tanzania’s northern tourist sites with the rest of the world.

Ethiopian’s new schedule is covered on daily afternoon flights departing at 1545 hours East African time, with an additional five flights departing at the same airport (KIA) in the early morning at 0330 East African time. This makes Ethiopian’s total flights to Tanzania at 12 after the introduction of the five, early morning flights.

According to the airline’s sources in its Tanzania country office in the capital of Dar es Salaam, the multiple departures between Kilimanjaro and its hub, Addis Ababa, gives tourists more chances to arrive to Tanzania’s northern circuit, as well as depart to their home countries via the Ethiopian capital.

Ethiopian Airlines has been a long-serving carrier committed to serving the Tanzanian market and has contributed significantly to the country’s tourism industry.

Ethiopian Airlines operates daily flights to Tanzania, landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) some 45 kilometers from the tourist city of Arusha and the Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) in Dar es Salaam on the Indian Ocean coast.

The airline is among the longest serving international carrier connecting Tanzania with the rest of the world through its hub in Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.

Ethiopian Airlines is Africa’s largest and fastest growing air carrier, which made its first maiden flight from its headquarters of Addis Ababa to Cairo in 1946. Since then, the carrier has grown to serve 50 destinations around the globe, of which 30 destinations are in Africa.
