RE: CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE TO REGIONAL CLUBS

CECAFA wishes to congratulate its member association clubs below that made it to the next round of both the Orange CAF Champions League and the Orange CAF Confederations Cup.

1. Young Africans (TZ)whodumpedKomorozine (Comoros) on a 12-2 aggregate.
2. KCC (Uganda)who went past Al-Merreikh (Sudan) on a 3-2 aggregate.
3. GorMahia FC (Kenya)for edging US Bitam (Gabon) on spot kicks after a 1-0 draw.
4. Flambeau de I’EST FC (Burundi) that eliminated Congo’s Diables Noir (Aggr. 2-1).
5. Dedebit FC (Ethiopia) that shone over Zanzibar’s KMKM with a 3-2 advantage.
6. AFC Leopards (Kenya) who defeated Defence SC (Ethiopia) in the Conf. Cup.
7. AS Kigali (Rwanda) which drew 1-1 away in Burundi to advance to the next round.
8. Al-Hilal(Sudan)

CECAFA further appeals to the above clubs to continue lifting the regional flags high when they face their next opponents.

To all other clubs that bowed out of the competitions in the preliminary rounds, you are urged to look back to the possible mistakes and work on them for future results. Special thanks to debutant South Sudan’s Atlabara FC for a respected exit against Ghana’s Berekum Chelsea. Atlabarawho were making their first appearance since South Sudan joined the CECAFA familywon 2-0 in Juba before losing on the same margin in Accra. Their ejection followed a 3-0 loss onpenalties.
