TIGO Telecommunication Company held a final draw for a Power Tiller winner as per company’s interest to join hands with the government in developing Kilimo Kwanza Policy.
Tigo and Noble Motors partnered to help farmers by launching this promotion which lasted for two months, from 16th August 2011 to 16th October 2011 where Subscribers stood a chance to win a VST SHAKTI MITSUBISHI Power Tiller from noble Motors. Participation was by subscribing to MIA and MIA ZAIDI SMS packages and by balance transfer where two winners will be awarded two brand new Power Tillers tractors with fully paid tax and registration.
A participant for this promotion had to send a key word MIA ZAIDI to 15313 to get 100 sms and five minutes Tigo to Tigo air time. A participant stood a higher chance of winning by subscribing to this service daily. Also a participant had to send a key word TANO ZAIDI to 15313 to get 15 sms and 2 minutes Tigo to Tigo air time for the entire promotion time.
Another altenative was by sharing credit, a customer could participate in the promotion by sharing credit with their loved ones by pressing *101* RECEIVER’S NUMBER*AMOUNT# then Dial.
Speaking after announcing the winner, Tigo Business analyst David Mugittu said this proves that Tigo’s promises to its royal customers are real. “Tigo as company, we have been conducting a number of promotions and campaigns as our main target was to inform Tanzanians of our services. These Power Tillers have been operating with utmost efficiency since 2006 also they have been certified by CAMARTEC, a government institution appointed for checking quality as well as operational efficiency especially in Tanzanian soil.

More emphasis is on field operator and even the winners being given awards today are expected to get training before starting operating these machines”
