VICTORIA University are the champions of the 2014 inaugural CECAFA Nile Basin Cup. They edged AFC Leopards of Kenya 2-1 in the finals here at Khartoum International stadium on Wednesday evening and walked off the pitch with a cash prize of USD 30,000 [About UGX 75m] and the trophy.

The Leopards returned home with USD 20.000 as the home side AhlyShandy took USD 10.000 for finishing third. AhlyShandy fought from a goal down to dump AcademieTchite of Burundi 4-1 in the classification game played earlier in the day.

Victoria University however wrote history by winning the regional trophy the very first time they participated in CECAFA organized competitions.
